How to use this tool
- 1Enter your annual taxable sales. Include all HST-taxable sales for the year before HST. Exclude exempt supplies (rent of residential property, most financial services, most health & educational services).
- 2Enter your ITC-eligible purchases. Add up HST paid on business expenses eligible for Input Tax Credits. This is the HST amount you paid, not the pre-tax purchase price.
- 3Choose province and current filing frequency. Provincial selection sets the HST rate. Filing-frequency lets us tell you if CRA would require a different cadence.
- 4Read your result. You will see HST owed (net of ITCs), CRA-required frequency, and the next filing deadline. If you are near a threshold, plan for the frequency change 12 months out.
