Why Outsource Your Whole Finance Function?

Most Ontario SMBs between $1M and $10M in revenue run their finances with a hybrid approach: a part-time bookkeeper, a CPA who shows up at year-end, a payroll software nobody fully understands, and a business owner who makes major financial decisions on instinct.

The result: delayed financial statements, tax surprises, cash flow blind spots, and an owner spending 10+ hours per month on finance tasks that aren’t their job. An outsourced finance team replaces that patchwork with a coordinated, always-on function — at a cost that is typically lower than a single in-house junior controller.

Frequently Asked Questions

How fast can you onboard?

Typical onboarding is 2 weeks from signed engagement letter to first monthly deliverable. We request read-only access to your QBO/Xero, your prior-year T2, and a 30-minute intake call with the business owner. For clients switching from another firm mid-year, we manage the transition and request records on your behalf.

What accounting software do you use?

We work primarily in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Xero. If you’re on a different platform (Sage, Wave, spreadsheets), we can assess during onboarding whether migration to QBO or Xero is warranted. We do not use desktop accounting software.

Do you handle CRA audits?

Yes. If you receive a CRA inquiry, audit notice, or pre-assessment review, Bader manages the correspondence, gathers documentation, and represents your interests directly with CRA. This is included in the engagement for routine inquiries; complex audits may be scoped separately.

Can I add services over time?

Yes. Many clients start with bookkeeping + tax and add payroll oversight, monthly reporting, or advisory as their business grows. Your engagement letter is reviewed annually and can be amended any time with 30 days’ notice.

Is there a minimum contract term?

We ask for a 3-month minimum commitment to make onboarding worthwhile for both sides. After that, the engagement is month-to-month. Most clients stay 2–5 years — not because they’re locked in, but because the service becomes integrated into how they run their business.

What’s the difference between this and a fractional CFO?

The Outsourced Finance Team replaces your operational finance function: bookkeeping, reporting, tax filings, and payroll. A Fractional CFO operates at the strategic layer: investor relations, financial modelling, M&A prep, and board-level decision support. Some clients engage both — operational finance team + CFO advisory layer.

One Monthly Bill. Zero Surprises.

Tell us about your business in a 30-minute call. We’ll scope a fixed-fee engagement that replaces your finance patchwork with acoordinated team.
