Deploy AI in Your Business with a CPA Who Has Already Done It

Most Canadian CPA firms are still figuring out what AI means for their clients. Insight Accounting CPA has been deploying production AI inside its own practice for two years—and we now run AI readiness audits, implementation sprints, governance frameworks, and fractional AI-CFO retainers for owner-managed businesses across the GTA and beyond. CPA, CA, LPA-led. Patent-pending framework. Implementation receipts, not theory.

2 yrsIn-house AI deployment experience
15+Client AI rollouts across 6 verticals
CPA + LPALicensed for the governance + audit layer
Why this matters in 2026: The CRA, OSFI, Ontario Privacy Commissioner, and federal AIDA bill all now require Canadian businesses to document how AI is used internally. If you have agents drafting emails, automating decisions, or processing client data, the governance gap is a legal exposure—not just an IT question. Talk to Bader →

Real client work, real numbers

A sample of AI deployments we have delivered for owner-managed Canadian businesses. Names and exact figures redacted for client privacy; structures and outcomes verified.

Medical Professional Corporation

AI patient-triage agent for a family practice

Mississauga family medicine practice receiving 80–120 patient messages per day across three clinic emails. We deployed a triage agent that classifies, routes, and drafts initial responses for the front desk to review.

Saved 6.5 hrs/week of admin time · reduced 24-hr response rate by 71%

Real Estate Developer

AI document review for tenant onboarding

Multi-property developer running 200+ tenant applications per year. We built a document-review agent that flags missing pages, validates income documentation against rent-affordability rules, and routes to underwriting.

Cut onboarding time from 9 days to 2.5 days · caught 4 income-fraud cases in first quarter

Manufacturing

AI inventory forecasting for a parts supplier

$12M revenue manufacturing client carrying 4,200 SKUs. We built a forecasting model integrated with their ERP that predicts 30/60/90-day demand using order history plus external signals.

Reduced stockouts by 38% · freed $480K of working capital from over-ordered SKUs

Group of Companies

AI governance framework for a 6-entity group

Family-owned group with operating co + holdco + two real-estate corps + family trust + management co. The CEO wanted documented AI policy across all entities for board reporting and director liability protection.

Delivered AIDA-aligned framework + signed acceptable-use policy in 7 weeks

The differentiation that matters in 2026: we are the only Canadian CPA firm we know of running its own daily AI ops AND delivering AI governance for clients AND licensed (LPA) to perform the audit and assurance work that often follows. Big-4 firms outsource it. Most accountants do not touch it. We sit in the rare middle that owner-managed businesses can actually afford.

How an engagement runs — in 4 steps

Insight Accounting CPA’s methodology is built around the same disciplined, fixed-fee process we use for restructuring and audit engagements. Predictability is the point.

1

Discovery call

30 minutes with Bader. Revenue band, current tools, urgency, budget. We tell you which of the four offerings fits, or refer you elsewhere if AI isn’t the right answer yet.

2

Engagement letter

Inside 48 hours: fixed fee, locked scope, deliverable definition, timeline. You sign or you don’t — no pressure tactics, no high-ticket close-by-Friday games.

3

Build & deploy

Implementation runs against the locked scope. Weekly check-ins. Any scope expansion is re-priced in writing before work continues. The principal stays involved — you never get handed to a junior.

4

Handover + governance

30-day stabilization window. Documentation, run-book, training. Governance policy filed in your board materials. Optional retainer for ongoing operations.

AI System Audits & Reviews — the assurance layer

If you have already deployed AI internally and your board, lender, or regulator wants independent assurance — we perform AI system audits and reviews under the LPA designation. Most CPA firms cannot do this; it requires both AI literacy and a Licensed Public Accountant on the file.

  • Bias & fairness review — examination of training data, model outputs, and decision-impact reporting against PIPEDA + AIDA standards.
  • Vendor due-diligence audit — SOC 2 review, data residency confirmation, sub-processor mapping, model-provenance tracking for tools you are buying or already use.
  • Incident-response walkthrough — tabletop exercise testing your response if an AI tool produces a wrong/harmful output, board notification protocol, regulator-reporting timing.
  • PIPEDA & PHIPA / FIPPA gap analysis — written gap report against the privacy statute that applies to your sector, with prioritized remediation list.
  • Board AI report — quarterly board-ready document summarizing AI spend, outcomes, risks, and changes in regulatory posture. Directors love these.

Frequently asked questions

Is this AI consulting, or AI implementation?
Both, depending on the offering. The Readiness Audit is consulting (roadmap + scoring). The Implementation Sprint is hands-on build-and-deploy. The Governance Framework is policy work. The Fractional AI CFO is ongoing leadership. You can stack them — most clients start with the Readiness Audit, then move into Implementation or Governance based on what the audit recommends.
How is this different from a software consultancy or AI startup?
Two things. First, Bader is a CPA, CA, LPA — which means the engagement is led by someone licensed to perform assurance work, sign tax filings, and serve as your fractional CFO simultaneously. Most AI shops do not have that designation. Second, our internal practice runs production AI today; we are not selling theory we have not lived. Tool selection comes with battle scars.
What does the AIDA bill mean for my business?
Canada’s proposed Artificial Intelligence and Data Act (AIDA), introduced in Bill C-27, would impose obligations on businesses deploying AI systems classified as “high-impact.” The bill is still going through Parliament but several provincial regulators (Ontario IPC, Quebec CAI) have already issued AI-specific guidance. The practical answer: document your AI usage, classify your systems by impact tier, and have a written governance policy. That is exactly what our Governance Framework engagement delivers.
Can you help us with AI tools we already bought?
Yes. A large share of our work is helping clients who already deployed Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, a CRM AI agent, or an industry-specific AI tool — and now need governance, optimization, or independent assurance on what they bought. The Readiness Audit covers existing-tool review explicitly.
Do you work with non-GTA clients?
Yes. Insight Accounting CPA is licensed in Ontario and serves clients Canada-wide. AI engagements are largely remote regardless of physical location; we have delivered for clients in Vancouver, Calgary, Halifax, and Montreal. In-person time can be arranged in the GTA, but it is not required.
How quickly can we start?
Discovery call inside one week, engagement letter inside 48 hours of the call, work typically begins inside two weeks of signature. Faster on Implementation Sprints where the client already has a clear use case; slower on Readiness Audits where we want time to map the full operational landscape.
